Art in Action has had a very busy summer creating new projects for our 2019/20 School year!
Classes will begin the week of September 30th and registrations will open Friday, September 6.
We hope that you will join Art in Action for an autumn themed art adventure and discover many new artists and art techniques. We will be inspired by the dazzling colours of fall with Gustav Klimt’s birch tree forests; a close up look of autumn leaves inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe; pumpkins and barns will be the focus of a landscape piece inspired by Peter Batchelder. Art in Action students will create a Halloween themed artwork; Remembrance Day poppies inspired by pop artist Andy Warhol as well as a colourful abstract piece using the colours of fall inspired by famous artist Damien Hirst and more!
Inspired by famous artists, Art in Action has an art history component as well as the tactile experience of experimenting with different art techniques and working with a variety of art materials including: watercolours, acrylics, oil pastels, chalk pastels and more. Fundamental concepts of the Elements of Design as well as the Principles of Art are presented in a fun and engaging way.
This art enrichment program is geared for success with approachable step-by-step projects. Create a new piece each week! All our classes are open to students in grade 1-8 and the fee for our 8 week coarse is $140 which includes all supplies. Here’s where we will be this fall:

Lambton Kingsway: Monday, Sept 30 – Nov 25 (No class Oct 14) after school
Humbercrest: Tuesday, Oct 1 – Nov 19 at lunchtime
Blessed Sacrament: Tuesday, Oct 1 – Nov 19 after school
KCS: Tuesday, Sept 17 – Nov 19 or Friday, Sept 20 – Nov 22 after school
Duke of Connaught: Wednesday, Oct 2 – Nov 20 or Friday, Oct 4 – Dec 13 (No class Oct 11, Nov 15 & Dec 6) at lunchtime
Humber Valley Village: Wednesday, Oct 2 – Nov 20 after school
Rosethorn: Thursday, Oct 3 -Nov 21 or Friday, Oct 4 – Dec 13 (No class Oct 11, Nov 15 & Dec 6) at lunchtime
Fern: Thursday, Oct 3 -Nov 21 at lunchtime
St. Pius X: Thursday, Oct 3 -Nov 21 after school
Park Lawn: Thursday, Oct 3 -Nov 21 after school
These dates take into account all holidays and P.A Days for an 8 week class.
