“My hope is that the objects I paint have the kind of intensity about them that incites the viewer to introspection.” – Christopher Pratt
Christopher Pratt is one of Canada’s most prominent painters and printmakers. Born in St. Johns, Newfoundland in 1935 the nature and landscapes of his birthplace resonate throughout his work. In his paintings, Pratt explores many themes: landscapes, roadscapes, architecture, boats, interior spaces and the human figure.
We studied his painting, Solstice Drive to Saint Anthony and worked with watercolours, acrylic paint and learned about one point perspective.
