Susan Gosevitz – Fall Landscape

Oct 25, 2013

“I see art as collaboration with nature… providing a return from hectic and stress, from consumption and chaos, to meditative simplicity.”

       –Susan Gosevitz

Susan Gosevitz is a living artist whose original paintings in oils and acrylics are inspired by the beauty and serenity of Muskoka. She is an award-winning artist and an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists. She is a graduate of the Toronto School of Arts and has studied at the Haliburton School of Arts.  She is also a former student of Robert Bateman.

To make our fall landscapes we used wide painters tape to create a resist for our birch trees. Oil pastels helped create texture and colour for our background. Permanent markers were used for the branches in the background and we finished off with a blue watercolour wash for the sky and black watercolour along the forest floor. The students really used their individual creativity to interpret this project and make it their own.
