Today we looked at the artist, Grant Wood, an American painter born in 1891 in Anamosa, Iowa. We learned about his life and career and based our own art project on one of his famous landscapes, Young Corn. Wood’s painted many of his landscapes with ordered fields and lush trees which was a complete contrast to the time in which he lived during the Great Depression.
We used black Sharpies to divide our landscape into different sections and then used repeated patterns, similar to Zentangles to give texture and details.
