“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
– Frank Lloyd Wright
We brightened up the classroom today with stained glass windows in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. I love the way the colours really sparkle.
Frank Lloyd Wright is known as the greatest architect of all time for his innovative and creative work. The students had a chance to learn about his life and see examples of some of his most famous buildings. During his career he created many stained glass windows which he described as light screens.
We focussed on his stained glass windows as inspiration for today’s session and made our own ‘masterpieces in glass’.
This project was inspired by The Green Bay Art Room.
