“I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”
– Georgia O’Keeffe
We were inspired by the great American artist, Georgia O’Keeffe and her painting, Ladder to the Moon. It is one of her later works, painted in 1958 when she was seventy-one. The students liked the dream-like quality of the piece and learned about oil pastel resists and watercolour washes. The gold paint really sparkles.
